I bought the nuvi 680 after having owned the 660, I would say that I didn’t expect much of a difference, but my wife had lots of use when she took my vehicle with the garmin nuvi 660 in it, and I wanted to get 2 so we both could have one.
After shopping around online a bit, I ultimately decided to order the garmin nuvi 680 personal GPS after reading some nuvi 680 reviews that stated the benefits of having traffic data utilized by MSN direct rather then the system the other models from garmin with the feature included utilized.
There isn’t an incredible difference, however, I found myself using the added features quite often now after having owned it for a while and definitely find it worthy of the pretty low price tag on the garmin 680 when compared to similar brands and models at this range of the market.
If you are comparing this to the ultra popular nuvi 350 and 660 units, I would say any one of the 3 would probably satisfy the less then heavy traveler, but the added value will surely not have you feeling like the slight price increase of the garmin nuvi 680 was wasted, and will probably save you much time, money and frustration as you begin to utilize the additional features making it a very worthwhile upgrade to the already owners or first time buyers.

P.S – for you married couples out there deciding to buy or not with two family vehicles, you may want to purchase two units or you may find your occupants and selves arguing over the vehicle they ride in hehe!!
